RESPONSE DETERMINATION OF DAMPED BATTERY PLATES BY NUMERICAL METHODS Abstract In order to simulate the behaviour of musical instruments it has recently been identified and implemented some appropriate physical models, rather than traditional synthesis formula. Physical models were usually applied to string instruments and wind instruments. In both cases it is possible carrying out the calculations by analytical mode, due to the simplicity of the equations that governs the phenomenon. In the case of a battery plate, here considered, we must apply numerical methods. In the present paper an analysis on the numerical response of a particular battery plate to numerical pulses is presented. Our finite elements model also consider the internal damping effects. Some performance evaluations and future developments of the method is finally reported.
