Sequential diagnosis of array processors
Chessa S., Santi P., Maestrini P.
In any system consisung of multiple interconnected processors, some processors may occasionally fail, thus causing improper system behaviour. Faulty processors should be identified and, consequently, isolated or possibly replaced. The process of identifying faulty processors is called system diagnosis.

Heterogeneous networking in the home environment
Bolla R., Davoli F., Repetto M., Fragopoulos T., Serpanos D., Chessa S., Ferro E.
The management and control at multiple protocol layers of a heterogeneous networking structure, to support multimedia applications in the home environment, is considered. The paper examines possible scenarios, and corresponding architectural solutions, also in the light of existing wireless and sensor networks technologies.Source: Broadband Europe (BBEurope 2006), Geneva, Switzerland, 11-14/12/2006

MadWise (Management of data in wireless Sensor Networks)
Amato G., Chessa S.

An integration gateway for sensing devices in smart environments
Girolami M., Furfari F., Chessa S.
Smart Environments, and in particular Smart Homes, have recently attracted the attention of many researchers and industrial vendors. The proliferation of low-power sensing devices requires integration gateways hiding the complexity of heterogeneous technologies. We propose a ZigBee integration gateway to access and integrate low-power ZigBee devices.Source: ERCIM news 32 (2015): 31–32.

Towards data management in the sensor Web: the MaD-WiSe system
Amato G., Chessa S., Furfari F., Lenzi S., Vairo C.
The convergence of sensor networks with the Web (Sensor Web) poses new problems. These relate both to the management of the enormous amounts of data continuously produced by sensors, and to the reaction to events inferred from such data. The MaD-WiSe system (MAnagement of Data in WIreless SEnsor networks), developed at ISTI-CNR, exploits the well-known database paradigm to address this issue.Source: ERCIM news 79 (2009): 51–52.

The AAL Open Association Manifesto
Furfari F., Potortì F., Chessa S., Tazari M., Hellenschmidt M., Wichert R., Gorman J., Kung A.
AAL (Ambient Assisted Living) has great potential for positively influencing the lives of many people. But impact so far has been less than hoped, partly due to fragmentation of research efforts and the lack of a standardised approach for developers. To address this, we are forming the AALOA (AAL Open Association), and invite you to join in our efforts.Source: Smart Sensing and Context. EuroSSC 2010.
