CASPAR: exploiting infrastructures for preservation

Digital preservation Open Archival Information Systems CASPAR
The reasons why information and knowledge - not just "the bits" - need preservation are discussed. The CASPAR Project is presented that aims at applying the OAIS Reference Model to research, develop and integrate advanced components to be used in a wide range of preservation activities.
